IGE sued by WoW Player

by admin on June 10, 2007

A World of WarCraft player has sued IGE for “knowingly interfering with and substantially impairing the intended use and enjoyment”. He claims IGE has reaped some serious profits and no doubt he is true. IGE is one of the biggest and well known virtual item sellers. It is well known that IGE amasses its virtual property through the use of third world farmers, commonly referred to as Chinese Farmers. Here is a link to the actual complaint.

I’d be looking into this quite a bit to see where it goes! Blizzard‘s games are going to set the pace of virtual goods. For those unaware, Blizzard has recently filed a suit against Peons4hire. Most if not all WoW players received the Peons4Hire whisper while playing WoW which is probably one of the reason Blizzard is going after them.  This spam was taken seriously as Blizzard now has an option to automatically report a player for spamming. Neat!
