Blizzards Statement on Buying Gold and Power Leveling

We would like to make a clear statement here about the negative impact of buying gold and using power-leveling services. Every day, we encounter players who have been negatively affected and targeted by companies offering these services. So, we hope to raise awareness about the practices they engage in and the detrimental effects they have on all players, including their own customers, as well as on the game environment as a whole.

What many people don’t realize when buying gold is the large impact it has on the game economy, and also how the companies selling gold obtain it. Our developers, in-game support, and anti-hack teams work diligently to stop the exploits these companies use and help players who have become victims of their services. We regularly track the source of the gold these companies sell, and find that an alarmingly high amount comes from hacked accounts. These are the friends, relatives, and guildmates you may know who have gone through the experience of having characters, gold, and items stripped from them after visiting a website or opening a file containing a trojan virus. Our teams work to educate players and assist them in avoiding account compromise, but the fact remains that the players themselves are often these companies’ largest target as a source for gold, which the companies then turn around and sell to other players.

Through our normal support processes and the assistance of players, we also find that many accounts that have been shared with power-leveling services are then hacked into months later, and all of the items on the account are stripped and sold off. Basically, players have paid money to these companies, sometimes large amounts, and they’re then targeted by these same companies down the road. We come across stories every week of the aftereffects of players using these services, and some players now have to deal with long-term repercussions — in addition to consequences such as possible account suspension or closure, in many cases the companies they paid use their personal information to perpetrate identity theft and credit card fraud. These are long-lasting effects on players’ personal lives that can take years to recover from.

We also want players to recognize that these companies often employ people to do their work through the use of disruptive hacks in the game, which can cause realm performance and stability issues. The companies essentially take time away from our development and in-game support efforts as we work to stop their exploits and assist players who have become their victims in recovering characters and items. They spam advertisements, use bots that make it hard for players to find the resources they need, and raise the cost of items through inflation. The negative effects these companies create depend directly on people using their services. Without them, the companies have no way to continue their unethical actions. Furthermore, it’s important to keep in mind that players are responsible for what happens with the account they play on. Selling gold for real money and having characters power-leveled are violations of our Terms of Use and End User License Agreement, and we regularly take corrective action when we find that these services have been used. We hope the information presented here is helpful to anyone considering buying gold or using a power-leveling service; these are just a few reasons that those services can negatively impact World of Warcraft and other games, and we strongly encourage players not to support the companies that offer them.

Favorite Gliding/Grinding Spots

When it comes to earning gold in WoW there’s a handful of areas that can really boost your earning potentials. Here are several of my favorite areas to bot/grind. These spots are best farmed with the aid of MMOGlider.

Shadowmoon Valley - Primal Air, Primal Fire, Primal Earth
There are two places in Shadowmoon where you can get these Primals. One has just the Primal Airs and the other has Fire along with Earth. The Airs and Fires can be sold for around +-20g a piece. So stacks of these can earn you hundreds of gold easily. The Earth Primals tend to go for a lot less but they still fetch a nice price.

Zangarmarsh - Fire Fly Pet
This profile was made to specifically farm the [Captured Firefly] non-combat pet that drops only from Bogflare Needlers.Lots of green items drop from these guys and also some blues. Grinding this mob for the pet can be arduous. The drop rate of this item is TINY! However these pets can be sold for hundreds of gold. I have sold these on average between 600 to 900 gold a piece! That’s some good money right there! Along with finding the pet you will probably gather full 200 stacks of unidentified plant parts which can be turned in for rep or auctioned off for some decent gold as well.

Blade’s edge Mountains - Silver, Netherweave Cloth, Fel Armaments, Mark of Sargeras
Everything here is farmed in the Deaths Door cave. Mobs drop money every time and they have a high drop rate of Marks. The Marks and Armaments sell in the auction house for very large amounts of gold. It’s very easy going here as you will never encounter multiple adds.

Nagrand - Cobra scales
For this spot you will need a flying mount. It’s located on top of a mountain to the far left of the map. The mobs here are all neutral so as long as you can handle the mobs you should never die unless you are getting ganked. The cobras drop Knothide Leather Scraps, Knothide Leather, and Cobra Scales. Each scale can be auctioned off between 14-20g.

As a botter it is important to switch up the spots you farm at. Sticking around in spot for too long will draw unwanted attention from both factions. Also you don’t want to saturate any one market too fast. Posting a couple primals at a time then switching to something the next day keeps you off the radar.

Alternative Database to WoWHead

There is a new WoW database that runs much like WoWHead but overall much faster. Looks like a great alternative if wowhead is running sluggish for anyone else. See it here.

Make Money Playing WoW Pt. 4

Part 4 of this guide will be our conclusion and math section.

Some simple math to see what’s possible:

You gather 150g a day, 5 days a week. You are making 750 gold a week. On average you can sell 1000g to private gold companies for $23 per 1000 gold. So in this case you will be making (.023)(750) = $17.25 by selling it to a company or twice that much if you can find a buyer directly. You can realistically bot all 7 days of the week but 5 is more newb friendly. Maybe you have other things going on and can’t bot the full 7 days. It happens!

The only problem with this is that finding private buyers is rather difficult. You should never let yourself be known on your server that you sell gold. There are a few methods of finding private buyers such as using forums like Markee Dragon. However it is much easier to sell to companies because they are easy to find and they are always buying!! Private buyers might buy 5000g but they buy it once every month where as gold companies will buy many times that amount daily. From now on we will not estimate how much we can make off of private buyers but just gold companies.

You gather 200g a day, 6 days a week = 1200g a week. This will fetch you $27.60 a week. Not too shabby? With this weekly income you can pay for all of your expenses listed in A,B, and C in a month.

“But you said you make $300 a week how do I make that much?” The answer is simple. Scale up and out. Maximize your earnings with good use of auctioning and vendoring items. For every level 70 that I have I have a low level alt sitting in a main city at all times. My level 70’s never leave the Outlands. I also send all of the gold on my 70 to my alt except for 50 just to make sure I have enough for repairs and other things. Mail all items to your alt and have your alt auction them. You will need a WoW addon called Auctioneer to maximize your earnings using the auction house. Using a combination of farming and auctioning items (say greens and better) you can earn much more than 200g a day. Each of my level 70’s earns over 500g a day. Sometimes good drops will sell for hundreds of gold or even thousands. It is really really not that hard to earn around 1000g per character a day for experienced Gliders with auctioning supply and demand know how.

As an experienced Glider and auctioneer you can earn 500g a day

The other method to scaling up and out involves getting more than one character up and botting. With this method you can easily double your earnings. The only drawback is having to pay $30 a month for two accounts. I should also mention that multi botting is one case where you will need the extra memory and dedicated graphics card otherwise your computer will cry.

Let’s look at some numbers involving two level 70 characters botting at the same time.

2 level 70’s earning 400g a day each for 6 days = (400)(2)(6) = 4800g a week or $110.40 a week. Not bad for not doing any work at all ey?

2 level 70’s earning 600g a day each for 6 days = (600)(2)(6) = 7200g a week or $165.60 a week. This is really good money! This is as the same earning potential that a teenager working part time  might earn per week. The only difference is that they are slaving for hours a day and you are doing whatever you want to do while your bot program earns money for you!

We can keep adding characters and earn much much more per week. There are people out there with tons of computers who do nothing but run bots on them. These guys are earning more than your average 9-5 full time employee makes in a month. Yes, they really are making thousands of dollars a month.

There are a lot of advantages of a getting into something like this because you do not get taxed by the government. Just by that alone you are saving a lot of money!

Remember start off small and scale up and out!

Make Money Playing WoW Pt. 3

B) Now that you are hooked up and ready to go you should be registering a WoW account. Maybe you already have one in which case you are already ahead of the game. I recommend you pay for the account with time cards instead of credit/debit cards. One reason for this is if you get banned and you create a new account with the same credit card information as the old account then Blizzard might link those.

C) The final and most important step is to purchase and download MMO Glider. What is MMO Glider you ask? Well simply put it’s a program that plays the game for you. Many people refer to such programs as “bots”. If you are discouraged by using a bot then here there is very little chance of you making any significant money playing WoW and you should just quit reading now.

MMO Glider is the absolute most important piece of this puzzle. No person can dedicate the willpower and energy to put out the manual labor that a bot can do. No, not even “Chinese farmers” can do this.

So what is so cool about MMO Glider? Well if you are not level 70 yet this bot can level your character for you. To farm lots of gold in WoW you will need to get to level 70. There is no other way. If you already have a 70 you’re on your way to making money much sooner than the guy who needs to level from 1 to 70.

The other important thing about MMO Glider is the ability to use it on more than one account. As you work your way into this business you will probably scale up and out.

So how do I use Glider to earn lots of gold? Well once you reach level 70 you can start using Glider to farm certain mobs, areas, items, etc. Upon purchasing Glider you will be able to access hidden member forums dedicated to such talk and much more. Glider can do just about everything. It’s a set it and forget it program to a large extent. That’s really all I can say about Glider and once you experience it you will agree just how great the possibilities are.

Make Money Playing WoW Pt. 2

Explanation:

A) First and foremost to even make money playing World of Warcraft you need a computer. Not your friends, or your schools, but yours. Consider this computer to be your business computer now. Take care of it by not installing bloatware and other junk programs.

Any recent computer will be able to play World of Warcraft. The game is surprisingly flexible when it comes to PC specs. By far the two most significant factors that come into play with World of Warcraft and computers is the Graphics card (GPU) and the amount of system memory (RAM). Most integrated graphics cards will run the game on low settings which will suffice for someone just getting into this business.

I recommend a dedicated graphics card to anyone that actually likes to play games. As for memory try to get at least 1024 MB or 1 GB of memory. Most computers these days come with that much. Other factors such as processor type and speed as well as the Operating System come into play. But as long as your computer is running an AMD Athlon 64 or Pentium 4 or better you are good to go. Hopefully you are not running something besides Windows XP or Vista, like Linux or you’ve got a lot of work ahead of you..

The second most important thing about having a computer is internet access. Broadband is a must have these days. If you are running on an Ethernet connection you are in a good spot. For those of you playing any game on a wireless connection feel free to kick yourselves in the rear right now. Wireless internet does not even come close to the reliability of Ethernet. If at all possible grab a cat 5 or 6 cable and plug it into your computer rather than using the wireless. Just take my word for it. Do you know any professional gamers that play on wireless connections? To make money playing World of Warcraft you need a connection that will no drop on you. Ever play games on a wireless connection and suddenly lose connection or get disconnected? Yep, that’s the wireless. They lose packets left and right so take my word for it and use an Ethernet hookup. If you don’t believe me there are hundreds of millions of pages indexed in Google that will vouch for me :)
