For anyone interested, Age of Conan was released this very day. Good move on Blizzards part? I think they may just have lost a LOT of subscribers.

i think you overstate the situation just a bit i lost a numbr orf accounts but a few were not running and got past so far
not a big deal most botters will be back up with in a week and glider will get patched and updated in a few days

I lost 3 of my accounts to this “ban wave.” You’re right why they would do that the day AOC was released is a little odd… maybe they wanted to lose some of us botters? As for me, I’m done with WoW. I’ve hated that game for years and only been using it as a side job to make money. After this I think I’m done. AOC sounds like it could be promising.
I believe Glider has been detectable for at least the past month. I know of a Glider user who has not botted in 2 months and has been banned.

I lost a 70 warrior, A 65 hunter and about 3k gold to the ban wave. Myfriend lost a T4/T5 hunter… FUCK BLIZZARD

Yep… I got hit too, lost a 70 t4/5 rogue, my 67 lock alt, my 19 and 29 twinks, and about 3k gold…… Not to mention the time and effort I put into the account… Shit, Karma sucks.

I think they did this on purpose. See, botting players are actually detrimental to the game, even though they pay for the account. Blizzard is better off without them, so they ban them all just as AOC is released… in the hope they all bugger off there. Smart move, hope it works!

It does not look like just botting, there are far to many banned for just the bot programs. It looks like any gold buyers have also been banned and taking up much of the bans.

And by the way, with the court battle I would bet money that there’s a settlement going on right now, and Glider probably gets to keep the 2.7 million plus that theyve made in exchange for the list of customers that subscribed to it. I had a buddy who hasnt botted in over 3 months get banned and he only used it twice. I dont see how they could retroactively go back and trace old files for something they couldnt catch in the beginning. Glider sold us out. Big fucking deal. Grow some nuts and start over the right way. Learn a lesson… You will never get over on a company that has over 8 million subscribers that pay an average rate of 15$ a month.

I was banned recently for using glider. The only reason I used it was to level my fishing skill on my 5th level 70 character all of which I levelled by hand. There exists some game mechanics that people do not enjoy and will not waste their playing time doing but are necessary for certain aspects of the game (End game food consumption is horrendous). I started using Glider about 3 days before the ban. I took the risk. I got caught. I’ll accept the consequence.
Goldfarmers and level botters who use these programs should be banned, no questions asked. There needs to be a better way to weed out serious cheaters and not just those people who risk cheating to avoid bad game mechanics.
To those people who have nothing better to do than flame those who got banned, chill out, chances are a fair share of these people got unecessary bans like the dude who logged in on his friends computer who had glider. These people weren’t all farmers. These were solid people. People on your friends list. Raid buddies. Do these people who use glider really ruin your personal game experience? Gold farmers wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t a demand for gold. Put a better system in place for in game gold trading.
I used glider to farm motes for the guild for no more than 2 hours per night 2 nights a week. I leveled my characters by myself, and only used glider for a month.
I don’t think people who have never used glider understand what it is, or what it does. It soens’t allow you to AFK in bg’s, it doesn’t allow you to make millions of gold and screw up the economy. Quite the opposite…Glider make things on the AH get cheaper..not more expensive…simple economics people.. Greater supply without increased demand = cheaper prices. Blizzard is upset over botters because people have to spend LESS gold to get items on the ah …as supply goes up, prices come down and players have to spend less time grinding for gold to buy things.
Blizzard equates this to less time played and so people will lose interest and stop player sooner. Blizzard are money grubbing bastards and have concern for a fair playing ground. They are only concerned with profit. All the blizzard fan boys and girls…hope you enjoy being screwed…you’re all sheep …BAH! BAH!

Think about it fucktards, if you didnt have botters on your server farming those primal fires you love so much, the price would go through the roof. On my server, prices of primal life went up by 15g the first day. Botters keep server inflation down.

Got the ban notice in May. Never used any type of bot program or 3rd party program. Never broke the T&C. Emailed blizzard. 15 days later got an email apology about blocking my account. Account was restored. Looks like their net captured some innocent players. If you’re in the same boat, e-mail blizzard. If you have broken the T&C I doubt there is much hope for you.
